Children’s Sermon Discussion Guide
Week 08October 4, 2026Ecclesiastes 8:1-17
Can we understand everything God does?
No. Some things only God understands, and that is OK, because we can trust him.
Before you talk
You cannot explain everything to your child, and that is OK. In fact, it is one of the most important things you can model: saying "I do not know" without falling apart. God is bigger than our understanding. The comfort is not in having all the answers. It is in trusting the One who does.
Start the conversation
- "Is there something you do not understand about God or the world?"
- "Does it scare you when you do not know something?"
- "What if you did not have to know everything, you just had to know the One who does? That is what trust is."
Look for it this week
When your child asks a question you cannot answer, resist the urge to fake it. Say, "I do not know. But I know God does, and I trust him."
