Children’s Sermon Discussion Guide
Week 15November 22, 2026Reign of Christ Sunday
Why do we wait for God?
Because God always comes through. He kept his biggest promise by sending Jesus, and he will keep every promise still to come.
Before you talk
Waiting on God is not passive. It is an act of trust, choosing to believe that the God who has already kept his biggest promise will keep every promise still to come. Advent starts next week. The whole season is about waiting. Your child is about to spend four weeks learning what it means to wait for something worth waiting for.
Start the conversation
- "What is the hardest thing about waiting?"
- "Has someone ever promised you something and kept it? How did that feel?"
- "God promised to send Jesus, and he did. What does that tell us about his other promises?"
Look for it this week
As Advent begins next week, start a countdown. Each day, name one promise God has already kept. By Christmas, they will have a list of reasons to trust him.
